A humble appeal to all, from the committee members of Sri Kasthurirangan Trust ( in Keezhappanaiyur village,Thiruthuraipoondi Taluk, Thiruvarur District.) The Lord Kasthurirangan has been worshipped by the Acharya purushas ( Descendants of Manavala MamunigaL) for several centuries. The palooraars have not only conducted worship in this Temple but also left many endowments for the continued maintenance of this Temple. A wealthy Landlord of Thanjavur district Vadapaathimangalam Sri. Thyagaraja mudaliar was maintaining this Temple in the beginning of this century. After his properties were seized by Government in the pretext of various land reforms, VST farm was looking after this Temple. At present this Temple is under the Jurisdiction (Unlisted Temples) of HR and CE Dept., Tamilnadu. The Temple does not have any income whatsoever from any source. Sri Kasthurirangaswamy is now facing East now after having faced South prior to 1987. The previous renovation / Samprokshanam was last held in the year 2004. Since then several cracks have developed in the Vimanam and walls of the temple.Due to this rainwater started dripping on the Moola Vigraham.Since this is harmful for the Temple as well as the village it is absolutely essential to stop the water seepage immediately by doing renovationand subsequent Samprokshanam. We (Kasthurirangan Trust, Keezhappanaiyur) have started the renovation work after performing Balalayam.
Thanjavur ditrict was the rice bowl of Tamilnadu once upon a time. Not anymore. There is widespread water scarcity all over Tamilnadu and Thanjavur is no different . There is no water available for drinking purposes, leave alone farming. The river Cauvery is dry as a desert. The rains have also failed. In such a situation it is imperative that we collect funds to the tune of Rupees Fifteen Lakhs for the renovation , Samprokshanam and creation of Corpus Fund for the daily worship ( To give Archaga Sambhavana on a monthly basis).Hence we request all philanthropic minded people to contribute their mite to achieve this target. We request you to kindly remit funds in the below given trust's bank account and also kindly inform us after remitting.
